BEER BREAD


1.     INTRODUCTION

Bread was first made in roughly the 18th century. Shortly after that people realized that you could utilize beer instead of live yeast. After the beer is brewed there is some extra yeast at the end of the brewing process. This is what makes the head (foam) on top of your beer after you pour it into a glass. This foam is where the bread gets the ability to rise in the oven.

2.     MATERIALS AND METHODS

Materials:
·      1 bowl
·      Two bread pans
·      2/3 cup brown sugar
·      12 ounces of beer
·      3 cups self rising flour
·      1/2 cup of melted butter
Equipment:  
·      Bread pan
·      Mixing bowl
·      Measuring utensils

Preparation:
1.     Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a
2.     In a large bowl, beat together brown sugar and beer. Gradually stir in the flour to make smooth dough. Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan. Then, brush the melted butter on top of loaf.
3.     Bake at 375 for 55 minutes. The top will be crunchy and the insides will be soft.

The recipe went very well and was a fun and easy way to make bread. However when I make it again, I will use two separate loaf pans since this recipe was too much for one small loaf pan in the picture.
